Allied Associates International (A2I) has an immediate opportunity available for a Virtualization Engineer with a Top Secret clearance, to support our government customer at Quantico.   

• Operation and maintenance of VMware Infrastructure based on vCenter, vSphere ESXi, and Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure 
• Isolate and resolve virtualization problems through the entire virtualized network stack 
• Explore, design and implement advancements of virtualization infrastructure 
• Implement, configure and maintain Instant Clone virtual desktops 
• Operation and maintenance of storage systems in the virtualized environment 
• Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof 
• Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance 
• Execute on-site, on the floor, technical and system administration support 
• Resolve a wide range of system issues, troubleshooting software, hardware, diagnosis of network issues, and addressing trouble tickets and service tasks across all tiered levels. 
• Develop and maintain automated operations to streamline and optimize the environment for high availability and reliability 

Required Skills 

• Extensive knowledge of VMWare vCenter, vSphere and Horizon, Windows Server, SQL Server or postgreSQL, Active Directory, and Windows Desktop
• Minimum 3 years of experience with VMware products, specifically ESXi and Horizon  
• Excellent understanding of virtualization covering the areas of infrastructure and design; maintenance and administration; performance monitoring and management; security; business continuity and disaster recovery; storage management, and patching 
• Analyze performance metrics, ability to pinpoint areas of concern, and recommend corrective actions in a virtual environment 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact comfortably and effectively with senior managers 
• Experience in scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python, Bash 
• Ability to lift or move various pieces of computer equipment, (max 40 pounds) 

Desired Skills 

• Experience with Cisco UCS 
• MCP, MCSE, or equivalent certification(s) 
• Active Security+ certification 
• VM Certified Professional 
• Experience with Linux (CentOS, RedHat, as well as others) 
• Experience with cross domain solutions 

Must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
