  • Overview

    A2I’s Communication Data Processing (CDP) Directorate is seeking a Branch Chief to manage the on-site Operational Development Branch.  The Operational Development Branch is responsible for providing improvements to CDP software, assisting the support team with operational fixes as needed, and answering questions from customer representatives about the inputs and outputs of CDP software.  This group will develop new modules for CDP processing software as well as improve the software architecture.    In addition, this team will perform periodic data analysis to identify new modules and/or potential enhancements. 


    The successful Branch Chief candidate will lead 3-5 staff members performing the support and software development functions listed above.  This will require a minimum of 60% of the candidate’s time at the customer site.   Potential longer-term tasks would include items such as: development of new output architectures, output modeling, decoupling of tightly coupled software. 


    Required skills:


    • Working knowledge of CDP tools
    • Understanding of the following technologies: .Net, Network protocol analysis/Wireshark, string parsing and manipulation
    • Working with the Atlassian Suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, etc)
    • Ability and comfort with customer-facing support and communication -- both verbal and written
    • Ability to take high level objectives from CDP management, elaborate into software requirements, and oversee implementation of approved solutions meeting the requirements
    • Proven quick reaction capability to develop and deploy time-critical processing changes into production
    • Must have active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain a polygraph


    Desired skills:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical field.
    • Understanding of the following aspects of the customer environment:
      • Systems that view or otherwise interface with CDP system output
      • Customer-hosted ElasticSearch and Kibana deployments
      • Customer’s Enterprise System Architecture, including data flow and processing workflow
      • The customer’s different data collection methodologies
      • Understand the primary intercept techniques in use by the customer, including broadband, data at rest, strategic feeds, and other customer intercept types 
    • Previous experience leading small software development teams
